Last night's meeting consisted of two groups of special guests. Our first guests spoke about the Sports Business study abroad program in Sydney, Australia. The program's manager as well as a student that took part in the program explained all of the perks that the trip has to offer. Our second visitor of the night was an intern from Safety Tag. Safety Tag is a revolutionary tool that is used to keep track of medical information of youth sports league participants. We first heard from one of the company's intern and then the CEO himself, Michael Buono, FaceTime called to talk to our members. Together they informed our club of all the great things Safety Tag has to offer. As a club we'd like to thank all of our guests for speaking at our meeting!
Last night, SBA was honored with the opportunity to hear from former Major League Baseball pitcher, Kevin Slowey. Kevin spent seven years in the MLB, playing for the Minnesota Twins and the Miami Marlins. Now that he has retired from the sport, he currently works for the Major League Baseball Player's Association. His postion within the union is special assistant. Kevin explained everything that the player's association deals with including minimum wages, salaries, player's rights, etc. It was a great opportunity to hear from someone like Kevin, and as a club we'd like to thank him for speaking at our meeting!
